About
MEDAERE, the Mediterranean Association of Environment and Resource Economists, aims to unite researchers working in the field of environmental and natural resource economics in the Mediterranean. It builds on the strong regional cooperation within EAERE and expands this to recognise our shared Mediterranean values. In doing so, it joins the worldwide tradition of other regional associations of environmental economists, namely the American (AERE), African (AFAERE), Asian (AAERE), and Latin American (LAERE) Associations of Environmental and Resource Economists

Members of all national environment and resource economics associations across the Mediterranean have the opportunity to automatically become members, in addition to new actors. MEDAERE is a no-flag association: members represent the Mediterranean and regional cooperation, not their individual countries of origin.

Mission
MEDAERE's mission is to drive robust research and cooperation in environment and resource economics across the Mediterranean. Our work includes, among others, energy, waste, natural resources, pollution and emissions, climate agreements and targets, land and biodiversity, and social justice.
Vision
We envisage regional environmental cooperation that sits in harmony, not opposition, with neighbouring regions, namely the EU, Africa, and Asia, built on sound and just research and long-term collective sustainability.
